Analytical reflection

Each short paper is to be formatted using Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spacing (do not add extra spacing between paragraphs), and one-inch margins all around.
Do not include information such as your name, the course title, or the date at the beginning of the text of your short paper. You may include a title page if you like; however, a title page is not required.
You are not required to cite the texts that are provided to you.
Due to space constraints, do not include summary opening and closing paragraphs: dive right into the analysis.

You will write an analytical reflection on one person from Michael Apted’s documentary 56 Up (or 63 Up, . Think link to the video is  https://fod-infobase-com.umasslowell.idm.oclc.org/p_ViewVideo.aspx?xtid=65985&tScript=0
You will refer to Bauer et al.’s (2005) article “Interpreting the Good Life: Growth Memories in the Lives of Mature, Happy People” (Bauer et al. (2005) – Interpreting the Good Life – Growth Memories in the Lives of Mature, Happy People.pdf ).
NOTE: you need to use only the sections in Bauer et al.’s article that have been highlighted in light blue; the highlighted sections are the ones that include definitions and interpretations of the “good life.”
If you like, you may refer to Chapter 9 and/or section 8.4 (Theories of Personality Development) in our textbook (or any section of the textbook you deem useful).
If you like, you may refer to the following optional articles (i.e., you are not required to use them):
McAdams (2006), “The Redemptive Self: Generativity and the Stories Americans Live By” (McAdams (2006) – The Redemptive Self – Generativity and the Stories Americans Live By.pdf )
Bauer et al. (2005), “Crystallization of Desire and Crystallization of Discontent in Narratives of Life-Changing Decisions” (Bauer et al. (2005) – Crystallization of Desire and Crystallization of Discontent in Narratives of Life-Changing Decisions.pdf )
In your reflection, provide an analytical overview of the person’s life; discuss the person’s development using concepts from the readings. NOTE: do not attempt to integrate all the concepts and do not use all the readings.
Write a 2-page paper (not more than 2 pages, not less than 2 pages), double-spaced, in which you address the following:
Write an analytical reflection on one person from the documentary exploring that person’s particular challenges and any obstacles that might have interfered with that person living “the good life.”
As you develop your refection paper, consider the following questions: What surprises did you find in the person’s life narrative? Did the person make any life-changing decisions? Did the person discover a “good life”? If yes, then how? If not, then why not?
