[SOLVED] Unemployment in South Korea
Writing prompt Topic : unemployment in South Korea
After doing some work to “lay bare” your current education on unemployment in South Korea, embark on a journey to expand your understanding by doing research—academic and otherwise— and write a 1000-1200 word project proposal that responds to the following questions:
How has the research you’ve done shaped your understanding of unemployment in South Korea? Of the many conversations being had about your issue, what is the one conversation you will join for your upcoming additional writing ? Why?
Research Requirements: Before completing your project proposal, you will create an Annotated
Bibliography that includes three scholarly sources and three popular sources.
Tips:
1. Answer the prompt questions in order – devoting about half of the proposal to how the research has shaped your understanding and the latter half to what conversation you want to join/what driving question you want to answer in the upcoming new writing project and why.
Questions you might keep in mind for the first half: did your perspective/point of view change as a result of doing research? Did you feel the research was lacking a perspective you’re hoping to add or find? Does the research you’ve done so far feel unsatisfactory to you? If yes, what kind of research will you continue to look for?
Questions you might keep in mind for the second half: what is the driving question you’re proposing for WP #4? (Be sure to explicitly state that driving question—this will make it easier for me to offer you feedback.) Why is this the question you want to answer/the conversation you want to join? You certainly don’t need to “know” your
response to this question yet (that response would basically be your thesis statement for your WP #4), but you can certainly discuss any early inclinations towards an argument and/or discuss what kinds of invention activities/critical thinking/further research you feel you’ll need to do in order to adequately answer your driving question.
2. Include intertextual analysis – meaning: bring sources into conversation with each other—when
writing your proposal.
3. Use in-text citations as needed, but there’s no need to include a Works Cited page, since I’ll have your annotated bibliography assignment already in hand if I want to double-check your sources. (In the in-text citations, it’s fine for this assignment if you just list the source’s last name(s). However, if you include the source’s name in the sentence itself, there’s no need to include a citation.)
