For this assignment, you will submit a draft of your literature review. Please submit a draft that is at least 2000-2500 words.
For your literature, be sure to follow the guidelines below. Your literature review:
● Discusses the educational inequality problem and narrows the focus to one facet of the problem that interests you.
● Proposes and describes a solution to the problem and identifies the focal demographic.
● Identifies gap in the current research to the solution.
● Lists research questions for a possible study.
● Incorporates current research on the focal educational inequality problem.
● Concludes with possible implications for education if the solution is successful.
● Is between 2000-2500 words in length.
● Is double-spaced.
● Uses Courier or Times New Roman font (12 pt.).
● Correctly uses APA format and style.
● Includes references list that includes 10-20 sources from peer-reviewed journals, books, or scholarly reports. (I already did 10 sources that are in my annotated bibliography)
For this assignment: Provide background information to a facet of educational inequality you want to solve and that describes a possible solution to the facet of educational inequality you mentioned. Include a discussion of the following:
● The target population: This is the population you want to help: I chose
“undocumented students”. Make sure you answer why you think it’s
important to support this population.
● Description of the problem that you want to solve: I chose “college
readiness”
● Description of a solution to the problem: This will require some thinking
and researching.
● Questions that still need to be answered about the solution.
● Implications if your proposed solution were to be successful.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
● At the end of the draft, indicate two areas where you would like help
with.
● Provide a reference list of 10 sources. This is a regular reference list.
The list should come from your annotated bibliography and additional
sources that you have found. In fact, it’s expected that you have revised
your list of references. IMPORTANT: Use the correct APA formatting.

IMPORTANT:
● First draft needs to be:
○ 2000-2500 words in length
○ Introduction needs to meet all the guidelines described in the
Introduction Assignment
○ Literature review body defines and justifies target population,
problem, and solution
○ Evidence clearly shows a gap in the literature
○ Research questions are clear and related to solution
○ Conclusion summarizes literature review and discusses
implications
● Two relevant questions are asked of peer reviewers
● Reference list has at least 10 sources and does not need to
contain too many APA formatting errors
● Some basic APA formatting rules to remember:
○ Use correct heading: “References” not “Works Cited”
○ Double-spaced
○ Hanging indentation
○ Alphabetized by authors’ last names
○ Make sure you correctly capitalize article, journal, and book
titles
○ Journal name and volume number are italicized
○ Every entry ends with a period
