Part One (35 points each) – 1 page:
Write a brief response for each question. Label each question with the corresponding question number. Start with a thesis statement (first line). Be specific in use of evidence to illustrate and demonstrate your analysis. 1. Identify, analyze, and assess the major causes, benefits, and consequences of European exploration from the 15th-18th centuries.
2. Identify, analyze, and assess the major elements of the 18th Century that helped unify the American colonists. Which two were the most significant and why?
3. Explain why the American Revolution occurred through three, significant pieces of legislation imposed upon the colonists.  What motivated the British? How did the colonists react to each piece of legislation?
Part Two (110 possible points) – 2 pages: 
Write an argumentative essay in response to the prompt, double-spaced and in 12 font. The essay should contain a thesis, body of concrete, specific evidence, and analysis that addresses all parts of the prompt. Identify, analyze, and assess the perspectives and experiences of the enslaved, indigenous people, and women from colonization through the American Revolution. What events, laws, theories, or movements were the most significant in shaping the experiences of these groups?  Did these groups resist (in a passive or aggressive manner) to their situations and treatment during this period?
