“The reaction paper should identify and provide analysis of the most important or interesting points emerging out of that week’s reading. The commentaries are graded on the basis of the following: 1) how well they capture the central points of the readings for that week; 2) how well they critique the analytic omissions and limitations of the readings; and 3) how original and insightful are the points they offer. Your points should be backed up by citations (with pages) to the readings. I do not want quotations or simple sequential summaries; rather I want you to distill the arguments and summarize the evidence across the readings. ” So, I do not need a summary. You do not even have to do all readings. But there needs to be some sort of reflection, opinions, critiques.
