Explain the Catholic Church’s counter-reformation in terms of the developments in vision, theology, leadership, monastic groups, and ministry practices.
WHY –
The Catholic Church responds to the Protestant Reformation of its own and on its own terms according to the Catholic Church’s values, traditions, and ministry practices.  Many times conflict can cause us to think more critically and deeply about our own state of existence and possibly make changes that will allow us to become better versions of ourselves.

Reflect critically on Jonathan Wesley’s ministerial innovations, theological interpretations, and practical implementation of a new Protestant vision for Christian evangelicals.
WHY –
With change comes innovation, change agents, and implementers who push the boundaries and do ministry in creative ways by building on the past while inventing new methods for doing ministry.  Jonathan Wesley and the Methodist movement serve as an excellent example of strategic innovation that embodies Protestant values but also brings a fresh new focus on the power of the Gospel to transform lives.
POST : The Wesley’s are truly a continuation of the Protestant movement.  Discuss Jonathan Wesley’s connection and contribution to the Protestant movement.  Then, identify the ways in which the Wesley’s introduced innovative and new theological, ministerial, practical living and leadership practices into Protestantism.  There are more than enough elements to choose from here so pick and choose according to your interests.

Examine the church’s response to the Enlightenment and the missionary challenge during the age of modernity.
WHY –
The Church and Christian communities around the world were confronted by the Enlightenment period and modernity.   Christian witness and proclamation took on various forms and new commitments for global evangelism impacted the world.   There may be a need to assess different forms of Christian witness and make renew commitment with the global challenges we are currently facing as well.
