Write a 1000 word typed and double-spaced (approx. 4-page essay) (3 pages on the following questions and 1 page for your soap opera) based on the questions and exercises posed in the Richard Robbins’ “Patterns of Family Relations” reading with the addition of including your assessment of the Kuwaiti or Arabic Family. The questions and exercises can be found on p.105, 111, 124, and 129 of the article:
1. Summarize the discussion of American, Ju/Wasi and Chinese, and Trobriand family structures as specified in the Robbins’ article.
2. Include your assessment of the Arab family or a family type you are familiar with in the same fashion the other three types of families discussed in the reading, how does your chosen family compare or contrast?
3. In the final exercise on p.129 substitute the Chinese family with the Arab family or the family of the culture you have chosen. How would you dramatize the Kuwaiti family or the non-Kuwaiti family in Kuwait relationships and problems in a soap opera? Write a brief narrative explaining and then write a single scene dialogue
