For this assignment, you are to compare the accreditation and/or regulatory standards required by the Joint Commission, the CMS Conditions or Participation for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other organizations specific to the various kinds of sites. A copy of the Joint Commission Record of Care standards can be found attached and you will also find a link to the CMS Conditions of Participation. You are to create a matrix of comparisons in table format, first listing a minimum of 10 requirements for the health records for acute care facilities as required by the Joint Commission. Then, for the comparison, you are to then indicate how these same items are address in the CMS Conditions of Participation for hospital records. You are to then select a minimum of 5 of the other kinds of facilities covered in the course, for example long term care, hospice, etc. and comparing their requirements to the standards of the Joint Commission Record of Care standards. Not every standard may be addressed for the other kinds of facilities, so you may either indicate NA (not applicable) or record what is required for the facility for that standard. As a separate document, you are to then write a paper summarizing your findings and including your own thoughts.
