Directions: Please answer each of the following questions in roughly 500 words (1,500 words in total). 

1. According to sociologist Ann Swilder, sociology is often regarded as a "weird field" because "the sociological way of thinking about the world does not come naturally to most Americans- it is an unfamiliar, odd and different way of thinking." Desribe something (or more than one thing) that you've learned in class- a concept percpective or theory which has challenged your assumption about human beings.

2. As we've discussed in class, the phenomenon of social influence in an indisputable feature of social life, yet there remains considerable disagreements among sociologists regarding the relative power assigned to the two main determinants of social outcomes: Structure and Agency
