Semester long Research Project

This research project will be completed in three (3) parts throughout the term and will require students to identify, research, and create a final “product” on their topic of choice related to global change.  The range of available topics for this project is extremely wide.  I want you to choose something you are very interested in since you will be spending lots of time on it. Your topic can focus on a particular region that is expected to suffer as a result of global warming, or you may choose to investigate one particular effect of global change.  You may also choose to investigate some adaptation techniques or mitigation effort either locally, nationally, or internationally. Or you may decide to pivot and focus on an issue from a more political or economy-based viewpoint instead of from the scientific perspective which the class will emphasize. 

 

In other words, the choice of topics is wide open and I want you to choose something that moves you. Maybe browse through the text to see some of the more interesting topics to you, or begin staying current with local or international news on the climate change front to see if something peaks your interest.  Just start by becoming aware of some of the pressing issues.
