Scientific Research Assignment Instructions:
You are to research a scientific topic, NEEDS to be BIOLOGY related
You are going to construct the background/bibliography portion of a science fair paper.
Use the science fair template google doc link as a guide!
This includes 5-10 respected sources, cited in APA format (link below), including in-text citations (link below) within the background paragraphs.
Your background should be a minimum of 3 pages in length, double spaced, 12 point font, times new roman (5 points)
Title Page (5 points)
Contents of background should include:
Introduction to study:  introduces the scope of the paper, explains background, reasoning, and rationale behind the study, introduces variables, ends with a hypothesis (15 points)
Thesis statement within paragraphs that supports the scope of the paragraph, logical sequence of information, the flow of ideas, smooth transitions between paragraphs (15 points)
Research is of high quality, sources are reliable and credible, and research addresses and is relevant to the experimental variables (5 points)
Paper has few Grammar / Spelling Errors (5 points)
Concluding Paragraph – summarizes content covered in paper (10 points)
Bibliography/Citation of sources should include:
Bibliography follows APA format for punctuation, ABC order, reverse indent, includes the required amount of sources (10 points)
Sources properly cited throughout the paper (in-text citations) (10 points
Try to include a variety of sources used: at least 1 book source, at least two periodicals, at least 1 internet source, etc.
