Child Development Theorists Chart
Create a chart (preferably) or a list of the top 10 theorists in your opinion. Below find the title of each column (boldedand underlined). Include the following information on your chart:
Theorist Full Name
Type of theory: (i.e. moral reasoning, social learning, cognitive, etc.)
Summary of theory: (at least 5 bullets) in your own words (NOT CUT and PASTED)
Importance to Child Development: Why did you include this theory in your top 10? What importance does it have in the classroom today? Discuss it's relevance.
Cite at least 5 references (2019 or later) in APA format. Include your reference list on an additional page. Do NOT include my name, your name, course number, date, cover page, etc. Just put the title of your chart and the above information.
Part 2 Instructions:
In 2-3 pages (double spaced), answer the following questions. Do you believe it is important for students enrolled in teacher preparation courses such as EDU 1 16 to learn about Child Development theorists? Why or why not? Tell me more about the top theorist? Why do you believe this theorist is the best one? How would you apply their theory to your own classroom? (If you are not teaching, how would you apply it to children you interact with? If you don't interact with any children, watch a YouTube video and explain the connection of the theory and what you saw).
Additionally, find at least 1 scholarly article from 2019 or later which supports any of these questions or anything else you would like to add about the topics mentioned. Be sure to have a reference page at the end of your paper (which is NOT included in the 2-3 paged double spaced paper). Remember NOT to include information we both know (i.e.
your name, my name, class number, date….). Just write the title of the paper and begin it. You can add the references you used to create the chart to your reference page. Therefore you should have at least 6 references in total on your reference page.
AP A format is used in this course NOT MLA.
