Midterm Paper Guidelines- HUMN-3

 

Write a 1500-2000-word paper, exploring your topic in an analytical form. This is not a survey paper and you must go beyond describing your subjects and offer an analytic interpretation.

 

In this paper, you are required to choose a myth, and find a minimum of two artworks (painting, sculpture, pottery, film or…) based on your chosen myth.

• Briefly Explain the Myth

• Analyze the myth,
  – Talk about the elements of the myth. The archetypes and anything else you have learned about the structure of the mythology regarding the myth.
• What is the meaning of this myth? What lessons does it offer? What can we learn from this form of mythology?
• Find and Analyze the elements of the myth in the art works.
• Do the lessons of this myth apply to 21 century living? Explain (yes or no). Make it relevant to present, personal, and social conditions.

 

– Use only academically reliable sources for research and discussion. Wikipedia and the dictionary are not accepted as sources. But websites such as The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (https://plato.stanford.edu/ Links to an external site.are reliable sources.

– Cite all your sources.
