For this assignment, you will be expected to create a portfolio that combines all of the statistical and R knowledge you’ve gained this semester into a single document. You should make a section of your portfolio for each topic we cover: (one way ANOVA, repeated measures ANOVA, factorial ANOVA,). For each section, you should include the following:
1) a definition written in your own words
2) a description of when you would use this statistic (e.g. how many variables do you have? what type of data would be appropriate?)
3) a novel example (made by you!) where the statistic would be useful/appropriate
4) details of how to calculate the statistic in R (what R code should you use and name your variables based on your example)
5) pros and cons of that research strategy (what can it tell you? what are the limitations? anything else that would influence your trust in that statistic or influence when you would calculate it?)
6) If applicable, what would a research question and hypothesis for a preregistration look like for this statistic?
7) If applicable, steps of NHST associated with the statistic (hypothesis –> conclusion, including appropriate confidence intervals, effect sizes, or follow up tests)
8) Guidance for interpreting the statistic (e.g.- what does the number mean? is it causal or not?)
9) An example interpretation/ example of how to interpret results

When you submit your portfolio, please use either a .pdf or a .docx.

This portfolio should be clearly laid out and required information should be easily obtained. This means that your instructor or your TA will be able to clearly see where you’ve provided information for each of the points above. However, other specifics about the portfolio are up to you. The intent of this assignment is for you to come up with “cheat sheets” for each topic we cover so you may use them for assignments in this class and beyond (should you need references to any statistical tests).

Examples of clearly laid out portfolios are available on our Canvas site. Please note that these portfolios did not necessarily get perfect grades- but they were easy to follow along. Any questions should be directed to your TA or instructor.
