Film Reflection Paper 4: The Age of Aging

Write an analysis paper addressing all of the following prompts:

Answer this question before watching the film:

What would you describe as “positive aging”? If you could design how the later years of your life would look, what would you want them to include?

Answer these questions after watching the film:

Do you think it is a good thing to treat aging in order to increase human life expectancy, possibly infinitely? What do you think it would be like to live 150 years or more? Discuss pros and cons of this possibility.

Describe Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel’s views on aging. Do you agree more with his perspective or that of the team working to “cure” aging through medicine?

Your paper should be at least two full pages, typed, and double-spaced. It will be graded for clarity and precision of writing style, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It must be submitted via the assignment link on the course Moodle page.

For every 24-hour period or portion thereof your paper is late (starting at 10:40 AM on the due date) you will lose the equivalent of one full letter grade for that assignment.  (For example, if your paper is between 1 minute late and 24 hours late, you lose one letter grade; if your paper is between 24 hours + 1 minute late and 48 hours late, you lose two letter grades.)
