By this point, the historical foundation that supports current research and practice in applied behavior analysis has been laid. This week, you will explore the specific definition, characteristics, and domains of applied behavior analysis. For this discussion, please review the assigned readings in this unit.

Please respond to the following:

• Define applied behavior analysis.
• Describe the key characteristics of ABA. Be sure to include reference to the “seven dimensions” as well as other key characteristics of applied behavior analysis.
• Discuss each of the domains of ABA: radical behaviorism, experimental analysis of behavior, applied behavior analysis, and professional practice. How are these interrelated and differentiated in the practice of applied behavior analysis?
• Taking these domains into account, describe the role of a behavior analyst as a scientist practitioner.
