Case assignment
The Case Assignment for this course will be a 5-8 page essay (excluding title page and reference page). You should use a minimum of 4-5 academic sources (at least 3 from the Touro library) in your Case Assignment.

Part 1 (approximately 1 page): After reviewing the material from the American Counseling Association Code of ethics, the background materials covered in Module 4 and your own research, write your counselor professional identity statement based on where you are today as a counselor-in-training and the ethical rules that you need to
abide as you look forward to be a counselor in the future.

Part 2 (approximately 4-7 pages): Compose a reflective essay investigating the various elements included within your counselor professional identity statement. This should also encompass your initial motivations for becoming a counselor and any influences on your decision pursue a career in counseling. Conclude your paper
with a statement of what “professional identity” means to you and how the concept of professional identity is relevant to ethical practice.
Please utilize APA formatted headings and subheadings to clearly structure the components of this essay.

Writing Guidelines
Essay must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins and typed in 12-point Times New Roman.
Your paper should have a title page and references page (not included in the 5-8 page total count).
Essays should be proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes.
You must cite all texts used along with proper paraphrasing to avoid plagiarism.
Make sure your paper has an introduction (with purpose statement), main points in the body of the paper, and an overall conclusion section.
Build support in your paper with background material including library sources that use the terms we discussed throughout the course/program (Use at least 3 sources from the Touro library)
